About Us

Stradbroke Dental was established in 1997 by Dr Anna Paxinos. The practice started in a small rented space in the Stradbroke Shopping Centre in Kew. It has grown from a small single surgery practice to a multiple chair clinic. Stradbroke Dental moved to Burke Road in 2004, and has been operating from a purpose built surgery ever since.

The practice prides itself in delivering professional, personal and excellent dental treatment and care. Every patient is treated with the utmost respect, compassion and care. We aim to make you feel comfortable and listen to your dental concerns and expectations.

The Stradbroke Dental Philosophy

We offer personalised professional dental care, that is aimed to encompass your needs and requirements. We aim to look after your dental needs for life, with high quality dentistry we would choose for ourselves. We strive to make your dental experience as relaxed, comfortable and caring as possible. We pride ourselves on building long and strong relationships with every patient so that your experience is as comfortable and stress free as possible.

Stradbroke Dental use Australian laboratories

We send our all work to Australian laboratories and only use materials that are approved by the Therapeutic goods association. To ensure excellent quality, predictability and consistency , Stradbroke Dental will not send laboratory work offshore . We aim to keep employment in Australia giving local dental laboratories all our business.

Stradbroke Dental are environmentally aware

We have a strong sense of commitment to be environmentally conscious, using biodegradable plastics as well as plastics that can be recycled where possible. We do not use metal amalgam, as it has raised concerns for many years. Although amalgam is a very good material, advancements in dental materials allow us now to use tooth coloured fillings in all situations. This reduces the mercury heavy metal that drains in to our waterways, as well as using an amalgam separating system to reduce waste amalgam contamination further.

We also:

  • Have a 15 kW solar panel system that runs the practice, only heating and cooling when required
  • Try to keep our water usage to a minimum, and turn all equipment off when not in use
  • Have changed our lighting to low voltage LED bulbs to reduce energy consumption
  • Are striving to be paperless
  • Use digital radiographs which reduces chemical waste
